Literature Review (Netraa)

Topic: An investigation of how the different types of water affects the growth of plant.

Different kind of water affects the growth of the plant such as fresh water, sea water, salt water and sugar water. This is also called as hydroponics. Hydroponics is the method of growing plants in water with different mineral solutions and without soil. The advantages are plants are healthier. No pesticide damage. It has a lower water requirement. One of the disadvantage is without soil as a buffer, any failure to the hydroponic system leads to rapid plant death.

Literature Review (Priya)

Hypothesis: Plants grow best in fresh water.

Why our research is important: Learning about how different types of water would enable us to see which type of water would enable the plant to grow faster. This way, farmers can improve their crops in such a way that they get a faster and more efficient harvest every year. Another term that can be used for our project is hydroponics. Hydroponics is the growth of plant using different minerals in water. The plants tend to be healthier using hydroponics because the use of pesticide is not needed. Secondly, we are able to save on the costs of soil.
